Scope Document
A scope document is a detailed document of what your site will accomplish and how it will do it.
This will serve as a blueprint while we construct your site. The scope contains:
- list of pages
- content needed for each page
- description of your site's functionality
- deliverable dates
- summation of project costs
The scope allows both parties to fully understand and agree to the project before any work is
done. Creating a scope for your site can take from 1-3 hours. This time is billable so be sure
you are ready to proceed. We create two types of scopes.
1)Quick Scope - We do a quick scope when we are sitting with you. We have a checklist that we will review.
As we go through it, you decide which items you want to include. Then we can determine
cost and project a completion date. These quick scopes are good for brochure
sites and eCommerce sites. If your site does not have any specialized functionality then a quick
scope is for you.
2)Detailed Scope - A detailed scope is for more complicated sites or sites that do not
fit easily into the categories on the checklist. Usually, these sites are for larger companies
who need complex calculating (business rules), creation of reports, or high end
dynamic functionality. With a detailed scope we get your input, then create a 3-5 page report
that clearly spells out every aspect of your site.
Both types of scopes represent your final product and can be changed as needed.
We want to note your expectations before we begin work - this will save you both time and money.
